Washington D.C. Leak Detection and Leak Repair
We’ve got you covered with expert Leak Detection and repair, no matter how mysterious your leak is.
Washington, D.C.’s mix of historic rowhomes, early 20th-century cottages, and contemporary builds offers charm — but also brings a range of potential water issues. Neighborhoods like Adams Morgan, Capitol Hill, and Brookland feature aging infrastructure and unique construction details that can make Leak Detection more complex.
D.C.’s frequent rain, harsh winters, and the region’s dense clay soil mean that water has a tendency to linger — especially beneath foundations. Older plumbing, shifting soil, and worn-out waterproofing all contribute to the risk. Whether your home is a century old or brand new, Dr. Leaks understands the specific challenges that come with owning a home in Washington, D.C. We’re here to find the source and stop the problem — before it gets worse.

Client Testimonials
Before we finally gave in and moved forward with the most expensive, nuclear solution, a new roof, a google search for our area turned up Dr. Leaks. The website described the services as exactly what we needed. Targeted, problem based assessment and treatment. They're not a roof company, they're not a window company, they're not a general handyman. They specifically addressed our exact issue, something that may have been an interaction of all of the above.
After an initial test and assessment, they identified the problem area with real water testing, reproduced the leak, and came up with options for remediation.
The first repair attempt improved the situation where the leaking was significantly reduced, but after the first rain, the issue was not completely resolved as there was still a smaller amount of water intruding. The testing team came back out, and did another test. They identified another spot where water was intruding, and again the repair team came out and addressed it. So after a handful of rain events, a couple of which were very hard rains, our leak issue is finally resolved.
Each step of the way was a pleasure working with Dr. Leaks. Their administrative team, the leak assessment team, the repair team, all were professional, communicative and invested in fixing our issue. In the big scheme of things, to a company like this, our job was a small job, but they demonstrated that they cared about our issue and we felt like we were treated with the same professionalism a big job would receive. This was not the cheapest option around...but, it was significantly less expensive than a whole new roof, and I can honestly say that I wish I had found these guys sooner as we had spent plenty of time, money and frustration on previous failed attempts at finding and fixing this leak. If what you need is targeted, problem based leak remediation, I cannot more highly recommend Dr. Leaks. I hope to never have to call them again because of a leak, but if another leak does present itself, I know who I'm calling first.
We appreciated how Dr. Leaks created a leak report before they started work on our home so that we knew exactly what issues they were seeking to address. It was very easy to work with the company on scheduling and other matters.
Now nearly a year after they completed work, we are still water free. I would recommend this business to anyone.
I appreciate their approach to detecting leaks, which is to say: they actually have one. I have yet to meet a roofer that will spend time trying to figure out where a leak is coming from. The usual approach is either to guess, or redo the entire roof. Dr. Leaks will do water tests to understand what's going on.
Dr. Leaks were always clear about what they were doing, and why. Pictures of the work are available via their website. They provided multiple options at varying price points, and they also performed repairs that another roofer would not even consider.
Also, it should be noted that the quality of roofing in Philadelphia is notoriously terrible, with one bad roof layer piled upon another. Figuring out where a leak is coming from is not an easy task.
So, take these one star reviews here with a grain of salt.
Contacted Dr. Leaks in July 2025 to assess a leak in our downstairs half bath. Luckily, it was a small leak, since we could not get an appointment until mid-August.
Once the technicians arrived, they spent 8 hours looking for the source of the leak. Four holes were cut in the walls, cameras used, the same questions asked again and again. And at the end of the day? A charge of $2,080 and no clear direction on next steps.
It is now October and we are still dealing with the fallout from the leak. I never received a full leak report/assessment from their "leak experts." Thankfully, a local plumber was able to point us to the necessary repairs, but with the cost of what needs to be done, I wish I didn't burn 2K with Dr. Leaks for zero results.
Posting this so others with larger more devasting leaks do not put their trust in this company.
Thank you!
